Your first visit: what to expect

Your first visit is all about getting to know you, your smile, and what you want to change. This 30 minute appointment gives Dr. Kesselman the insight he needs to recommend whether it is the right time to start treatment and what options might fit best. You will meet the team, tour the office, and have a thorough exam. Dr. Kesselman will walk you through what he sees, potential treatment paths, and timing, and you will have plenty of time to ask questions.If treatment is recommended, the next step is a records appointment to gather full diagnostic information, followed by a consultation where you will review the plan, estimated treatment length, and financial options together.

Open communication

Good orthodontic care starts with honest, two way communication. You can expect clear explanations of the diagnosis, recommended and alternative treatments, and any concerns that might need additional attention. Working together, the goal is simple: a beautiful, confident smile that feels worth the effort.

Any panoramic X‑ray taken within the past six months, if available.

Simple habits for fantastic results

Great technology and careful planning only work if teeth and gums stay healthy along the way. That is why Riverside Orthodontics spends extra time helping kids, teens, and adults build simple hygiene habits they can actually follow in real life.

You will learn how to brush around brackets and wires, use special tools like interdental brushes (Proxabrushes) to clean under wires, and keep aligners and removable appliances fresh and clear. The team may also recommend fluoride products or rinses to give teeth extra protection while you are in treatment.

If something feels confusing or if brushing and rubber bands are becoming a struggle at home, just ask. “What can I do for you? How can I help?” is more than a slogan; it is how the team approaches every conversation about keeping treatment on track.
